Permission updates

A known limitation in the permissions feature has been solved, below described as it reads in the Permissions Guide.

  • The Permissions API has some inconsistency in error messages delivered to the client, making it hard to understand what actually is wrong. This also applies to App Board messages.

The Permissions guide will be updated to reflect the improvement Known limitations.

Support for LoRa WAN connectivity discontinued

We are now discontinuing support for LoRa in IoT Cloud. Should you have questions or a potential use case involving LoRa WAN, please get in contact.

Minor improvements and corrections

  • Added ability to create and move Things into a domain where the domain name contains characters other than a-z A-Z 0-9 or _.,@/:#- .
  • App Board: To align wording and create more clarity, Thing Name is changed to Thing Label in create Network Thing, Edit Rule modal as well as data picker modal for Analyzer.

Minor improvements and corrections

  • App Board: Improved error handling for new user signup for consistency across App Board.

  • App Board: Thing Name is changed to Thing Label in Thing edit/update modal.

  • App Board: Added clarification on terms of service for Data Export. Documentation updates are found under CREATE_EXPORT_JOB in content/rest-api/observation.md.

  • API (GraphQL): Added permission documentation where applicable for GraphQL queries with Required role and Required privilege.

  • API (GraphQL): field subthingType is populated correctly when retrieving resources for a ThingType.

  • Corrected an issue with a user sign-up, where a domain can no longer be deleted if it contains any users in any state including unconfirmed.

Features

Data Export and Networked Things are now generally available

The two additional services Data Export and Networked Things are now generally available.

Both these services have been available in IoT Cloud for a while, and we have communicated that invoicing of these services will commence going forward. Launch information on:

As these are additional services, they are subject to additional costs, based on the usage. As previously communicated, the first invoice will be sent in May for the monthly period of April.

Customers who have these services in their current pricing will be invoiced accordingly. Customers without this price point in their price lists will be invoiced according to the Telenor Standard Price List.

  • Documentation: Improved consistency in error messages when a user lacks authorisation for the requested operation in the REST APIs.

  • Documentation: Clarified the readonly property for the Rules API

  • AppBoard: “Back Button” on Settings and Domain pages fixed to navigate page history correctly.

  • AppBoard: Time Series widgets in AppBoard updated to include legends.

Launch of Start IoT and IoT Cloud Community

Version 2.81 includes the public launch of Start IoT where users can find resources including tutorials, access to trial connectivity and IoT Cloud accounts as well as details on the many hardware and integration partners IoT Cloud works with. Start IoT also provides a user community for discussions and support around IoT and IoT Cloud.

  • Fixed an issue where data retention settings were occasionally displayed incorrectly

  • Fixed an issue where a users Additional Roles were not displayed correctly in AppBoard

  • Clarified protocol as a mandatory parameter for Thing Creation (documentation)
